Maximizing FPS support/help

Hi, I run a 13' i7 2011 Macbook using bootcamp to run Windows 64 bit. Unfortunately my graphics card isn't very good and I don't know much about video settings. It'd be appreciated if someone would guide me through what settings I should configure to optimize my FPS. I do not care about quality at all.

Hello guys , well i have a problem with "Dolphin" , when i try to configure the controls and that stuff ,the emulator stops i dont know why
take a look at this video

I think that thw problem is not the emulator or the PC because i was playing fine , without any problem the last day , i think that if you can give me the "install wizard" (not just the .Rar file) it should work , i think
I have this problem with all the versions of Dolphin

Mi PC is a Macbook with the OS of windows 7
the game (the only one that i have) "SSBB" works fine in this machine
So i think that's not the main problem

Hi all.

Well here it is. am gonna buy me a new laptop to emulate dolphin for NGC and Wii, also am gonna use a few other emulators as well. cant get a PC desktop due to the constant mobility issues. so could any one advice me about the e best choice regarding emulating performance and price.

simply i wanna buy the best cheapest laptop that would work fine.
I don't want to just go and buy alienware!

OpenGL performance

Hello

I wonder, why the OpenGL performance is so slow, but my slow gfx card is only 20% busy. So I started to debug:

With apitrace (nice tool, also working with d3d, try it), I sniffed all opengl calls while rendering one frame of the mario galaxy intro and save it here: http://markus.members.selfnet.de/dolphin/
There is also an short version with the typical rendering of some polygons.

In this typical rendering, 3 operations are done:
- overriding all texture parameters
- overriding all shader parameters
- rendering mostly 30 vertexes

Ok, I see, the last is importent. The shader parameters also often changes. But why changing the texture every 10 polygons to the same texture?

Is it possible only to set the texture parameters on changing the texture? I think this would speed up the opengl plugin enormously.

im really at a loss i want to get this to work but i cannot connect my wiimote to dolphin. when i click refresh it does nothing and i have already paired the device to my bluetooth it picked it up as a game controller. please help D:

The sound doesnt work at all and ive tried changing almost everything (in reason) in the config settings but it still sounds like death....has anyone else had this prob? Has anyone fixed it?

So I think i bought the wrong computer... advice for fixing it up?

First of all, thanks to those of you who sift through these threads and offer help.

I read the requirements on the main page and in my price range Gateway computers seemed to be the best match. I recently bought a SX2370-UR30P only to find that the spec requirements in this forum are a little more demanding.

While I wait for my desktop to arrive, I'm interested in what needs to be upgraded to make it decently functional. I don't need full speed and 1080p, I just want it to reach an HD resolution and look substantially better than the wii. I'll be outputting over HDMI to my HDTV. I intend to try Skyward Sword, Windwaker, Other M, DK:R, Star Successor, Metroid Corruption, Mario Galaxy 2, and Muramasa.

If any specs pose a serious problem then I'd appreciate suggestions for what to upgrade/replace. I assume i'll have to buy a graphics card since integrated is apparently a no-no... oy.

BONUS NOOB QUESTION: I've read that it's now possible to rip game discs with a DVD drive rather than using homebrew. If anyone can link me to instructions for this it'd be great.

Hi guys!
Currently I have an HP computer. These are my specs:

Windows XP Home (I've tried 7 but it gives me issues)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40Ghz 3GB of RAM 500GB of Hard Disk
Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS

With this specs how can I run games like Epic Mickey (little slower than normal -20Fps) or Fragile Dreams (Overclocking the pc too)?
Or should I buy a new pc?
If I have to buy a pc I'll take a Mac OS X Intel Core i7 3,4Ghz 4GB of RAM 1TB of Hard Disk
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1GB (I love it)

Is this a right choice? If not what is a right choice for me?

Controls flickering? [solved]

Since i've installed Windows 7, Dolphin doesn't seem to work with my computer anymore. Games run, but I can't control. When I try to set both my Gamecube and Wiimote controls, the window boxes and buttons flicker and reset or something. I thought it was just my Logitech Duel Action controller, but it seems fine with all my other games. I tried to set to just keyboard and mouse, and the window still flickers strangely and blanks itself. I can start games, and they run just fine but the control module of Dolphin is preventing me from doing anything. This happens with older versions of Dolphin I have lying around too...

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 840 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5770
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
RAM: 16gb DDR3 SDRAM 1333

Dolphin: 3.0, 3.0-636 (tried both, same results)

Not sure if this would ever be possible, I just thought i'd put it out there.

If you limit a game to a higher amount of fps, say double intended. 120 or 60... then make some kind of hack to slow the game down, people with higher refresh rates would have a nice smooth image. I'm at 95hz, and tried some games at 95hz. So smooth, but obviously sped up.

Again... not sure if this would be possible somehow, and if anybody knows any reason why this would or wouldn't work, I would like to know.

Wiimote Plus not working [Fixed]

I just got hands on a Wiimote plus controller (as the older ones aren't available here anymore).

I tried both on OSX 10.7.4 and Vista 7 64-Bit with 3.0.636...

I can pair the Wiimote plus and see it in Dolphin in Windows 7 as being connected...but no button presses are recognized though...not even the motor starts when pressing refresh...

Is the Wiimote Plus still not supported yet?

Is my computer good enough? I've checked the thread and read like every single page. Didn't see anything on how to speed it up. I have a laptop, that's really a desktop replacement aha. It can run Skyrim, Crysis, hell, anything to be honest. But I can't seem to get a constant 30 fps on Twilight Princess Wii? I've played with a ton of settings and nothing seems to really be helping.

Is there something I'm missing?
I'm running the latest dolphin. 3.0-636
i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz 2.00GHz
6.00 GB System ram
1.50 GB Vcard ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460m
Windows 7 64 bit

Should I be using a different version of Dolphin? Can someone help?

"Stretch image to window" not activating on startup

the option "Stretch image to window" does not seem to work when the program is shut down and reloaded. The image goes back to 4:3.

the moment i click "graphics" to check "Stretch image to window" the screen suddenly stretches (which is what i want). seems like this option is not being activated on startup

any advice please?

hi all ^ ^ I have a big problem with the emulator when recording on the memory card and record successfully but if the emulator gets caught me off or when I am adding a memory card there is no saved data that passes (I am using a translator to ask the question)

Hello, in a fit of nostalgia I have downloaded Dolphin and attempted to play the legend of Zelda Wind Waker, a childhood favorite of mine. However, much to my discontent I have come to realize that the game is only running at about 50% speed.
My laptop is an Alienware M11x with Intel Duo 1.30 ghz processors, an Nvidia GeFore GT 335m and 4 gb of ram.
Is my situation hopless? Am I forever damned to the limbo of unfortunate slowness?

Im planning on getting a cheap but decent laptop for gaming. I have my eyes set on a Asus G51jx that i know will handle easily the most recent games... but im unsure about dolphin...
Anyway, here are the specs. What can i expect ? I want to try the Zelda games, maybe starfox even.
